HRA is governed by the HRA Executive Committee. The membership of this committee consists of representatives from the Masters and Juniors (parents) communities. The Executive Committee is focused on the organizational health of the organization (safety, financial, operations). This committee is lead by a President, currently Buck James (Masters member). Olympian, World Champion, and 13-time US Rowing Elite National Champion, rowed collegiately at the University of California, Berkeley. He has since continued his rowing pursuits as a coach of Masters, Collegiate and Junior rowers, having done so at a variety of schools and clubs in the US. Ted is a lifetime member of Penn Athletic Club in Philadelphia and was inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame in 1997.
Christine Power is involved as a Coach with the Junior High and Middle School Program. She has been a rower for over 34 years, having rowed collegiately at SUNY Maritime College. She first coached for Halifax Juniors in 2001-2004, as well as Embry Riddle Women in 2004-2005. Christine also holds a USRowing Level 2 Coaching Certification. She has been an active club member since its inception in 1994.
Ashley Martin is the primary coach for the club’s Middle School Program. She was a collegiate rower at the University of South Florida. Ashley is currently in the process of completing her USRowing Level 2 Certification. Outside of coaching rowing, Ashley is a full-time teacher at a local middle school.
