High School Rowing

The HRA High School (part of the Juniors) Program serves young adults in grades 9-12 (roughly 15-18 years old). This program is recognized by Volusia County Schools as a varsity lettering sport and has participants from schools all over the greater Volusia County area. The team provides opportunities to compete, and have a great time, at regattas during the scholastic year.

For those interested to pursue rowing in college, HRA has previous High School Program participants who have continued rowing at the collegiate level, including for the Univ of Alabama, Cornell U, Drexel U, Embry-Riddle, Florida State, U of Florida, MIT, the US Naval Academy, and more. Like any other varsity sport, this commitment does not mean that every high school participant is trying to row in college, but rather that each participant commits to be a reliable part of the team and looks to improve their rowing capability.

There are two competitive seasons for the HRA High School Program, which align closely with the Volusia County School calendar – the Spring (sprint race) and Fall (head race) seasons. This team competes in 3-5 regular regattas per season and sometimes competes in special or selective regattas as well. These regattas are mostly in Florida, but some require travel to other states. There is a Summer Junior Rowing Program as well, which is focused on training and improvement (see Planned Events page).

The fees for the HRA High School Program for the (4-month) Fall Season are $260 per month or $1040 for the season ($1000, if paid in full the first month). The fees for the (5-month) Spring season are $260 per month or $1300 ($1260 if paid in full the first month).
NOTE: Program fees do not include uniforms, shoes, or gear. Those are purchased separately by each rower.

Every week, Mon / Tues / Thur / Fri (4:15-6:00p) and Sat (8:00-10:30a)

Middle School Rowing

The HRA Middle School (part of the Juniors) Program serves young adults in grades 6-8 (roughly 12-14 years old). This program is geared towards building fundamental rowing capabilities and having a lot of fun while doing it!

While the Middle School Program is not as focused on competition as the High School Program, there are still two competitive seasons for the Program, which align closely with the Volusia County School calendar – the Spring (sprint race) and Fall (head race) seasons.  This team competes in 2-3 regular regattas per season.  These regattas are mostly in Florida.  There is a Summer Junior Rowing Program as well, which is focused on training and improvement (see Planned Events page).

The fees for the HRA Middle School Program for the (4-month) Fall Season are $185 per month or $740 for the season ($700 if paid in full the first month). The fees for the (5-month) Spring season are $185 per month or $925 for the season ($885 if paid in full the first month).
NOTE: Program fees do not include uniforms, shoes, or gear. Those are purchased separately by each rower.

Every week, Mon / Wed / Fri (5:00-6:30p)
